Tasmania Honeymoon Accommodation Suggestions

We recently went to my home state of Tasmania for a week.

As a special surprise for my husband's birthday I wanted to splash out and book one night in a deluxe accomodation venue near Freycinet National Park to witness a beautiful sunset over the 'Hazards' (granite mountains by the water with a pink hue).

If I was loaded, I would have definitely booked into Saffire Freycinet, an award winning 'luxury lodge of Australia' starting from $1800 per night per suite... so no booking for me!

I had long wanted to stay at Freycinet Lodge, looked amazing and was about to book there, however the 'more affordable' rooms and the ones remaining for suitable date was $570.

Just before I hit send to make the booking, I did a little research and found this little gem, Edge of the Bay. It was $330 and included a $30 voucher for dinner, very modern, large bathroom, had a kitchen, was spacious, had a private deck and an amazing view of Coles Bay and the Hazards (the second photo I took from our deck).  Dinner with a view over the water was also amazing!  (The above prices were at the time of writing, February, 2014)

Hubby loved it!

A worthy contender if you are after a romantic honeymoon in Tasmania with plenty of things to do - along with lazing around reading a book with a glass of sparking in your hand.  Freycinet National Park is at your doorstep with plenty of beautiful walks, kayaking, swimming options or a picnic on the beach. The resort has free bikes you can also use.  And a perfect honeymoon feast on the freshest oysters can be found just up the road at the Freyinet Marine Farm ! ;)

Do you have any favourite romantic places to stay in Tasmania, especially for a honeymoon? I would love to hear them, please add in the comments below!
