Save money on your Wedding Day

So the day you have been dreaming about is fast approaching and its very exciting but mention the word 'Wedding' and you will know that costs can easily spiral out of control!

Wedding flowers for the bridal party, family, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, wowsers! That's just one small part.  I got our flowers from the market and friends helped me put together the bride and brides maids' bouquets.  I bought some cute but cheap small vases to put cheap but lovely looking posies in on the reception tables.  It took time but all up saved about $750.  I did pay for 4 boutonnieres though!

My wedding dress I bought online, had a few hiccups but all up I saved around $4000 and in the end I thought it was well worth it and very happy with my wedding dress.  The tip is to get it early enough so you can make alterations if you need.  But, it is a tough call as you are losing weight so you want it to fit! :-)

We selected a wedding reception venue where we could bring our own alcohol, buy up big during savings or in bulk.  I went to First Choice Liquor and they agreed to take back any additional we didn't need so we didn't have to worry about running out of booze!

For our Wedding Invites, I purchased them online (etsy.com)  and we printed & cut ourselves.    I bought some quality paper and envelopes and htey looked great.   Again it took time but saved about $500.  You can also find some great decorations online.  If you plan well you can definitely save money.

Here's around 160 more tips on how to save money for your wedding.  You can have a wonderful day without spending a fortune or skimping out on the things that are important to you.

Do you have any tips?  I'd love to hear any tips you may have on how to save money on your wedding day.
