I often get asked, why do Marriage Celebrants charge what they do? Many people assume that a Marriage Celebrant just rocks up on the Wedding Day, performs the ceremony and that’s it, all over in 20 minutes! This simply isn’t the case. A Marriage Celebrant needs to do a lot more than that to ensure a smooth and legal ceremony that the happy couple will remember for the rest of their lives.

A Wedding Celebrant in Brisbane, Brisbane North or Brisbane South can range in price depending on the type of Marriage Celebrant, they are (Civil or Religious), their experience and the type of Marriage Ceremony being conducted.

Some Brisbane Celebrants have different Wedding Ceremony packages where usually the cheapest option doesn’t include a lot, I only offer the one package and price that has no hidden extras. In my experience most couples when they get married have similar requirements so I include everything within the one price to make it easier for couples.

Brisbane Marriage Celebrants now have to pay an annual fee to the Attorney General’s Office (the Australian Government body who governs Marriage Celebrants in Australia) to continue to be registered. Brisbane Celebrants also need to undertake annual professional development which is another annual cost. Both of these Brisbane Celebrant Costs are incorporated into my Brisbane Celebrant price. These costs ensure your Brisbane Marriage Celebrant is legally authorised, registered and keeping up to date with essential legal, ethical and standard requirements of the Australian Government, and aren’t dodgy!

Always check that the Brisbane Celebrant you are interviewing for your Wedding is registered with the Attorney General’s Marriage Celebrant register.
